There is a bad news for members of Media Enclave Journalist Society ( association) at Karora in Nayagoan near Chandigarh. With Punjab govt re-enforcing the section 4 of Punjab Land Preservation Act (PLPA) for another 15 years, all construction activities remain are banned and no colony or house can be built over there. Earlier, a report had appeared in a section of media that Govt was likely to allow the lapse of this act as Punjab Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh has bought land in Siswan, near Korara. All members of the society now stand to lose . It is now as obvious that members were misled to believe in the last three years by the office-bearers of the society and were trapped . Those members who have purchased the plot with registry are at great loss. In fact, the very existence of this society was questionable right from the beginning and was, ostensibly, created to help the builder. The area was banned for constructions activities since 2003 as it was a demarcated forest area and no sale of plot were colony could be executed there. Despite this, an camouflaged journalists housing association was set up to help the builder and gullible journalists were trapped to believe that everything was fair and transparent. As a matter of fact, forming an association for developing a housing colony is totally illegal as group housing activities can be undertaken under the aegis of a legal entity i.e society. The so called association was run from builder office and his men were looking after the association days-to-day affairs. Even the brochure in the name of association was brought out by the builder. What is shocking is that name of Chandigarh Press Club was also used and membership of Rs. 1000 was also taken from the members. All these activities amount to fraud, cheating and trickery. The members are now left with only option to press for refund of money.
