Ordinary Kashmir Toils Hard; Local Leaders, Separatists Eat Creamy Layers

Just a few years back, Shimla used to be highly dependent for its menial jobs on Kashmiri labor. As soon as you land in Shimla, right from Victory Tunnel to Old Bus stand, Kashmiri Labour used to run along the incoming buses to offer their labour services. The tough topography of  Shimla made it difficult for non-Kashmiri to work . Kashmiri toil hard and are used to whither the harsh climate of Shimla. In fact, for long Kashmiri had contributed a lot to the economy of Shimla. In view of the large presence of Kashmiri labours, a labour hostel is still there to provide shelter to them. However, a majority of them stay in Masjid Areas.  Kashmiri labour still come to Shimla and others towns to earn their livelihood  and native  people nurse a special bond with them. One of reasons for Kashmiri to come to Himachal is that the state is more close to Kashmir than any other Indian state. The common man in Kashmir toil very hard. They  are worst sufferers of  the poor governance in home state. This is in sharp contrast to  local leaders and Separatists  elements. The local leaders have exploited the state as wantonly as  have Separatists and alien elements The social and economic fabric of  Jammu & Kashmir have been  holed deeply by power-hungry leaders. Its a tragedy that while poor Kashmiri has to run around for his livelihood, local leaders including  Separatists have been eating the creamy layers. It is probably due to this mis-governance,  the state is witnessing the alienation of local people. The recent developments in Kashmir valley are bound to disturb all patriotic people. Despite being accord a special constitutional status under 370 and  getting liberal grant over the years  from federal govt as compared to neighboring Himachal Pradesh and Punjab, this "Heaven on Earth" is proving to hard to be governed by Indian laws. The alienation has gone too far and widespread.  Now , Separatists  have more say then the local leaders. Bandh, Shutdown and  Mass Protests are order of the day. The state has remained in hibernation  for over last two decades. Despite the presence of army, BSF and other security forces, violence is unabated. Over 50,000 people have died in last two decades. Separatists  get liberal monetary aid  from across the border and as such need not to worry over how to meet both ends meet. They keep on singing praises to Pakistan leadership, meet Paki leaders whenever they visit India. They have no love lost for India ad its sovereignty.and their openly insult Indian flag and carry Pakistan during the rally they hold. On 14 August, Independence Day of  Pakistan this year separatists unfurled the Pakistan national flag in many parts of Kashmir but showed abject contempt to India's Independence Dy celebrations.  In fact, there are no laws for separatists and Pakistan supporters in Kashmir. Separatists  are, occasionally, put under house arrests but all this don't make any difference. It has been going there for long. It seems the happenings in Kashmir are a design of deep-rooted conspiracy to alienate the people away from main stream. Indian govt should wake up now.
