Congress: A Headless Chicken

Congress today is like a headless chicken. Party chief Rahul Gandhi, elected with much fanfare and high hopes, just less than two years ago (December 2017) has run away from the scene. Party 'Mother India'Sonia Gandhi's poor health doesn't allow her to shoulder the heavy responsibilities. Congress last hope rests on Priyanka Gandhi but she is reluctant to head the party after her "Indira Gandhi like" charismatic personality failed to cut much ice with voters in May Lok Sabha elections. And party biggest dilemma is that, it is still not ready to brood beyond Nehru family.

Party is completely in a mess. Its free for all. Party top leaders even don't know what party line to follow and what to speak and what not. Ruling BJP has outfoxed the party time and again. In most recent. the abrogation of article 370 has left GOP in complete shackles. Congress leader in Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan sparked a furore in the house after questioning if Jammu & Kashmir was an internal matter. Sucn an irresponsible statement comes only when there is no clear stand. Worst, Congress whip in Rajya Sabha, Bhubaneswar Kalita resigned over his party's stand on Article 370. The MP claimed that the Congress party was committing suicide by opposing the abrogation of Article 370.

Party stands deeply divided over Modi Govt latest move on Kashmir. Even top leaders of the party including Jyotiraditya Scindia, Haryana ex-chief minister BS Hooda, Janardan Dwivedi and many ot. Save Gulam Nabi Azad, the Congress leader hailing from Kashmir, no other leader is vociferously speaking against the govt move to divide Jammu & Kashmir.

Congress is so confused at the moment that Manish Tiwari had to refer to the EL James's erotic novel "50 Shades of Grey' on party stand. All this doesn't bid good for the party. It mus remember the story of a headless chicken.

Last Year (March, 2018), a chicken riding a bike without a helmet had an accident and got decapitated in Thailand’s Ratchaburi province. A female vet who was passing by was so distressed to see the headless chicken running around that She took the bird to her clinic and treated it with antibiotics. The hapless chicken survived without a head for more than a week.

Earlier, a plucky bird called Mike. lived for 18 months after losing his head in the US from 1945 to 1947, though the story was thought to be a hoax by many.

The point is no one, even grand old party, can survive without head for long.
