Finally, a Victory For Congress And Rahul Gandhi

Indian National Congress proverbial " crowned prince" seems to have  incarnated wisdom and compassion, especially after a recent two-month break he had from party politics. His break in the midst of parliament budget session created a stir in  political circles. It gave enough ammunition to ruling BJP to take swipes at his 'leave of absence." There were jokes and jibes on him on social media.. It wasn't clear where he spent his "holidays' as party leaders had shut their mouth on his absence.  There were even suggestions that he had run away to Italy, his "Nanihal" following party humiliating defeat after defeat in elections. BJP and its mother RSS have been wishing for long that scions of Nehru family should run away to Italy the country Sonia Gandhi comes from. For BJP, the biggest threat to its 'saffron agenda" is from the Congress and the country's oldest party is dependent on Nehru-Gandhi  Scions. Poor guy Rahul has taken over the reign of Congress when party is at its worst. After clinging to power for more than five decades, Congress party's cadre is deeply engrossed in comforts of power. Now, they lack the will to struggle in streets  for 'Aam aadami".  Lust of power is so strong that Congress leaders fight each-other more than the rival party. The this  infighting goes down to village level. The biggest challenge before Rahul Gandhi is how to purge the party of vested interests and then rejuvenate the cadre. He, himself, hasn't risen from cadre and instead is a sort of 'parachute leader'. That is the catch point. He has done his best to be among poor, share their miseries and live with them. But, all these tantrums haven't borne  the fruits. He is also not a vote-catcher speaker. He can't  market his family settings  as Prime Minister  Modi has been. Modi humble family background has worked to his advantage. Common man still sees him as one from them for he has superbly sold his being a chaiwala. For poor Indians, a chaiwala as prime minister is unimaginable in present body of polity where money and  muscle power rule the roost. Rahul Gandhi can't be a 'chaiwala'. And he cant go for celibacy like Modi. And even if he does a Modi act of celibacy, BJP and RSS will make his life hell. Thank God, he is yet to marry. BJP men are confident that, Rahul Gandhi can't make it to Modi level, come what may.  However, Rahul Gandhi now looks more composed and confident. His attack on Prime Minister, Naredera Modi is more focused and blunted. He has also learnt to speak meaningfully and to the point. His first appearance after break was the farmers rally and since then he hasn't looked back. It is under  his leadership that Congress is taking the land bill issue to its logical end. And now, Modi govt has succumbed to Congress pressure. It has decided to drops all amendments the govt has incorporated to 2013 bill as passed by the UPA govt.   Its a victory for Congress . Its only the fight for common men's plight  that Rahul Can endear himself to them. Modi has done this for long.
