The tragic death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput (Manav in populat TV serial Pavitr Rishta) is too shocking. Just at the age of 34. a promising actor has ended his life. There no words to understand the way he left for his heavenly abode at this young age.. From a bright young to a star, Sushant had come a long way and had many more miles to go. He was running a successful career but it is said he was under depression for sometime and going under treatment.
This Mechanical Engineering from Delhi Technological University (DTU) wasn't made for running an ordinary career but was destined to be a rising star. He made his foray into acting and became household name with his role in popular TV show "Pavitra Rishta". Later, he rose to fame on silver screen with Abhishek Kapoor's "Kai Po Che" in 2013. He was last seen in 'Chhichhore' alongside Shraddha Kapoor. Ironically, the film dealt with the issue of suicides.
During his stint in "Pavitra Rishta", Sushant had crush with co-star Ankita Lokhande and both had an affair until Ankita backed out as Sushant remained too busy elsewhere, It is said after his mother death, breaking with Ankita was another shock to his psyche. Sushant was undergoing treatment for depression. Police have found medical prescriptions and medicines for the treatment of depression at his house. Reports suggest that the actor had some friends staying over at his house. In the morning when they tried to knock the actor's door and didn't get any response, they broke into his room where he was found hanging.
Social media is abuzz with speculations over why did a successful Bollywood actor commit suicide? What drove him to such an extreme step of ending his life. The fact is that Sushant did end his life, no matter how successful, how young or how promising he was. There was something so grueling that ending his life seemed easier for him than living it. On the face of it, all was okay in his life but beneath the clam surface, was tumultuous mental health.
After his death, the innocent smile he was, all the time, bearing on his face appeared deceptive. Behind this smile, he had an ocean of suppressed emotions. It was evident when he shared black and white photo of his mother and wrote "Blurred past evaporating from teardrops,Unending dreams carving an arc of smile And a fleeting life, negotiating between the two, Maa" after his manager Disha Salian committed suicide by jumping off the 14th floor of a building of the Jankalyan area of Mumbai's Malad a few days ago.
His death has reignited the conversation on mental health. Despite having a successful career, you can go through emotional turmoil, as was the Sushant Singh Rajput. Mental health recovery is not easy and experts suggest, higher is your status, more strong is post-traumatic stress disorder. While not everyone experiencing mental health issues attempts or even consider suicide, deep emotional stress often plays a significant role in suicidal behavior and risk of suicide.
Other factors contributing to suicide are: 1.breakup or loss of a child or close friend; 2: financial distress; 3:persistent feelings of failure or shame; 4: a serious medical condition or terminal illness; 5:legal trouble, such as being convicted of a crime; 6: adverse childhood experiences, like trauma, abuse, or bullying discrimination, racism, or other challenges related to being an immigrant or minority; 7: having a gender identity or sexual orientation that isn’t supported by family or friends
Facing more than one type of distress can sometimes increase suicide risk. Someone dealing with depression, financial difficulties due to job loss, and legal trouble could have a higher suicide risk than someone only dealing with one of these concerns.
Its not clear as yet what was or were the reasons behind Sushant's suicide? But it must be very very strong.
