Is Modi Following Dr. Manmohan Singh's Art of "Maun (Silence)"?

There is an old saying " Silence is gold". Prime Minster Narendra Modi seems to have taken a leaf out of it. Else, he must have learned, by now, that his predecessor Dr. Manmohan Singh's  art of being "Maun -silent" is the best way to ward off the criticism. Despite being active  on social media churning out dozens of tweets and Facebook posts between  public events, even when abroad, he hasn't written a single word on MP Vyapam scam or  "Lalitgate".  Unlike Dr. Singh.  Modi is a skilled orator and prolific on social media, so his studied silence looks  scandalous at a time when allegations of corruption and influence trafficking affecting his party has set other tongues wagging. Remember, how he used Hindi jargon to  to deride his reserved predecessor Manmohan Singh as "Maun Mohan". He has yet to utter a word on controversies surrounding his Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)  and Rajasthan's chief minister and the foreign minister Sushma Swaraj gave to cricket tycoon Lalit Modi, He hasn't even said a word on  spate of deaths linked to exam scam cheating scandal in Madhya Pradesh. He has been sharing his views with people on various issues in 'Mann ki Baat". Last time, he spoke on several  contentious issues but he  voided Latit Modi controversy. He has not said anything on Raje. His  admirers say Modi's reticence is nothing new as he has a record of  of avoiding inconvenient issues. They recall Modi as Gujarat chief minister avoided to speak on religious riots  for years. He even walked out of a television interview in 2007 after five minutes of questions about his role during riots.  It was his silence that earned him a reputation as a hardline Hindu nationalist, So far so good. Now opposition is asking,  Why is he keeping silent? The situation is getting murkier.. Who is he protecting? Modi is trying to shield certain things or protect some individuals? Why this silence,?". Coincidentally, Modi is caught in  the same situation his predecessor DR, Manmohan Singh had been. As the scam after scam had hit the UPA govt, BJP leaders targeted the then Prime Minister and tried its level best to provoke him. And now Congress is doing the same thing. H is reticence can't help him for long. Its different to be state head then country head. With so many controversies erupting within a short span, his silence may damage his reputation as an "decisive man". There can't be double standard  at the highest level.History repeats itself.  Modi's studied silence on controversial issues may earn him the apithet of "Maun Modi".
